Peelings

The series Peelings explores a balance between covering and emergence.

It is constructed from successive layers of colour, partially covered by warm textured white surfaces. These layers do not completely mask what precedes them: fragments of colour reappear through cracks and surface interruptions.

These tensions generate a movement between appearance and erasure, where the painting is constructed as much through what is revealed as through what disappears.

The series evokes strata of matter and memory, where the surface becomes a space of circulation rather than a state of immobility.

Revealing. Self-revealing.

What we silence, what we cover, yet what shapes us.

The parts of ourselves we hold back, that speak out anyway.

What we call a flaw...can be our ground to stand on.

The truest part of who we are.

The one that shapes us. The one that carries us.

Peelings is an invitation to look at our flaws differently.

With nuance. With texture. With color.

With integrity and care.
